A downloadable game

Saltus is a short game made by four college students for a class in the Spring of 2025. Over a span of twelve weeks, we accomplished what you see now! Initially, we had planned to continue to polish the game after our class was completed, but nothing really happened, so I and the team decided we would release the game as a free download to anyone who's interested. It's not much, but it's ours. :)

The Story:

Screenshot of Wizard's opening dialogue.

You are a golem, an ancient construct discovered by the inhabitants of the village you wake up in. Following a set of strange events, the nearby forest becomes dark, and ghosts appear, causing distress! Under these circumstances, the townsfolk decide to ask you for help.

Exterminate the Ghosts!

Into The Dark

Your first view into the darkness of the forest! Keep an eye out for ghosts.

While exploring the forest, you will encounter ghosts that are out for blood! You can avoid their line of sight and sneak up behind them for a surprise attack, but if you get too close they'll hear you, even from behind!

HEALTH and POWER

HEALTH and POWER

Thanks to the core in the center of the golem's body, its POWER infinitely regenerates!

Taking damage will lower your HEALTH, just as sprinting and using your flashlight will consume your POWER! POWER regenerates naturally over time while not in use, and HEALTH will regenerate as long as the player's POWER is full. After every quest, your HEALTH and POWER will both increase, along with regeneration rates and sprint speed.
